Video: It's Really Shawn Cosby

What an amazing program. We interviewed Pastor Trenillo (Tree) Walters, founder and Gospel Musician of Outreach 24/7 (www.outreach247.com) with his guess, Elder Tony; and Shawn Cosby, Actress, Dancer, Choreographer.

1st Segment: Pastor Trenillo (Tree) Walker

Pastor Trenillo shared his background being raised in a Washington DC hood. A place where people said nothing good can come out of there. But God saw otherwise. Older men took him under their care and taught him the art of sound/audio production so much so that after graduation he was hired to work at BET. Go-Go has always been a 1st love. God ensured that the style of music would not be changed to be used for the Kingdom. Bob Jones heard the sound and – BOOM, Outreach 24/7 hit the big league. To book Outreach 24/7 for an event, contact Pastor Tree at www.outreach247.com

2nd Segment: Shawn Cosby

Shawn Cosby is an awesome individual, so personable and warm. She started dancing at the age of 7 and was horrible. She didn’t have the natural things a dancer had, so she danced on the back row. Over time, she evolved into a “triple-threat”, known to have “shut down the city” and proved that there is hot talent on the East Coast. Her confidence comes from a strong foundation in God – even after hearing repetitive “no”s from the industry. God knows and has purposed her for greatness. “Those We Don’t Talk About” is written by Shawn and produced by Pastor Trenillo’s Outreach Productions. The film launches 2015! Pastor Trenillo, Elder Tony and Shawn will be back!

MentorMe® Memorable Moments

Sunday, May 10, 2015 - Mental Health

Host Tracy Everette-Duncan

CoHost:  Dwayne Ross

Guest: Otha Alexander, Diabetes Educator

Video: Rion Paige, Born This Way

1st Segment: Battling the Stress of Diabetes

Our Guest Co/Host for the 1st Segment is Otha Alexander, Health & Wellness Diabetic Educator and Motivational Speaker. Otha called into our program from Columbus, Georgia. He set the record straight by sharing his story of how he learned he was diabetic over 40 years ago. There wasn’t much information so he continued his lifestyle as usual. However, over the years of learning family members passed due to diabetic complications, Otha began educating himself. Today, he is a Diabetic Educator establishing support groups in Georgia to help people understand the nature of this disease.

2nd Segment: Rockin' Your Diff-ability!

The Chop-Chop, was very informational. Dwayne helped us to understand the challenges of employing people with “Diff-abilities”, the new term for disability. Shockingly, families predating Obama care did not have the required help to oversee the safety of family members needing specialized care. The only way to ensure their safety and be able to work to earn a pay, the member who was disabled was often locked in a closet, room or basement until the family member returned home. However, the availability of Obama care has not only permitted families to attain effective assistance, but also has engaged those who are “diff-able” to work to earn a paycheck bringing worth and value to the community.

Guest:  Eugene & Janice Payne of Janice Payne Ministries, Accokeek, Maryland

Video: "Testimony" by Anthony Brown is BLOCKED from viewing

1st Segment: Miracle Payne!

What an amazing story of a man who died several times but was revived to live another day. Eugene and Janice Payne shared Eugene’s story that shook their faith foundation and proved to them that there is a Holy God and He is in control of everything. Eugene was a jogger for the past 20 years. One morning, like any other, he left the house to jog and was unexpected hit by a cab. The accident was horrific and left him dead at the scene – BUT God spared his life.

2nd Segment: Fashionistas with It's A Wrap

Is The New Black’s owners, Denee Davis and Courtney Everett shared their business successes. The type of clients they have rely greatly on both to be truthful in what styles will complement the body and skin type. Denee shared that the days of “I’m a Spring-Winter-Fall-Summer” color style is over. There are 1000s of colors made from a single base that complements various hues. If you thought you couldn’t wear orange before, guess again.

1st Segment: Transition - to WHAT?

It’s never too late to attend college or vocational training. In the 1st segment, we shared with parents the stats on the number of students who graduated High School bound for college in 2014. We also showed the number of students that didn’t graduate High School, but instead dropped out. But of the number that attended college, women continue to rise over men. Unfortunately, neither gender effectively planned for the exit from High School. But it’s never too late! We provided several methods of obtaining funding to attend college that starts as early as 5-years old.

2nd Segment: Qualifying the Relationship!

Our 2nd segment was just as intense. “Qualifying the Relationship” was an in-depth discussion on how women appear to the male, as well as, how women view themselves. Just how does one qualify a relationship? Does he dress well? Smell good? Pay attention to your every word? Is sensitive to your needs? Is that how women qualify men? Anyone can fake it until they have obtained it – so, what is the best way for anyone to qualify a relationship?
