We welcomed Dr. Renee Sunday, MD in discussing Grief & Loss: Pushing Pass the Pain! Dr. Sunday shared the driver for her passion to help those who are grieving with a breakthrough. Her book, Sunday Grief, M.D. is available on www.amazon.com  Though a unique experience in terms of her: personality, faith, family dynamics and knowledge of medicine; the information Dr. Renee Sunday, MD shared was beneficial in that it addresses the physical and emotional processes we encounter after the death of a loved one regardless of loss of relative, friend, associate, job, pet, or car. We all experience grief differently. Sunday Grief, M.D. is the roadmap to helping us push-pass-the-pain!

2nd Segment: Keva Sturdevant, "Healthy, Wealthy and Wise: Estate Planning"!

We discussed with Keva Studervant, Financial Advisor, one way to avoid probate all together is to create a 'revocable trust'. Too many of us die intestate – that is, without a will. In other cases, to die with a will could lead to probate court where 40% of the Estate funds are paid to the courts. Have you considered a “Trust”? You can design the instructions to your benefit ensuring that the money is well spent. For example, you can leave a trust for your grandchildren specifying that at the turn of 18 years old the children will receive a portion of the inheritance. At the turn of 25 years, again, they could receive a portion of the inheritance.  Keva Sturdivant, Financial Advisor, is the person you will want to connect with.

2nd Segment: Physical Health: 1-Blow Could Cost $10,000

Our 2nd segment dealt with being stopped by police and check for driving under the influence (DUI). Today, if you are asked to “blow” in order to determine your blood alcohol content (BAC), and you blow greater than .08 which is the national level, you will be arrested and charged with DUI. It will cost up to $10,000 to defend your position. This includes fines, lawyer fees, car being impounded – at a minimum. But if you cause injury or fatality, the victim can sue you, the establishment that sold you the alcohol and everyone who participated in the sell. We used TiPS University Training to describe how we can certify College, Vocation and HS students to intervene where peers are becoming progressively intoxicated.
